Welcome to Ms. Poteet's KINDERGARTEN!

Hello! My name is Emily Poteet. This is my 2nd year teaching kindergarten at Grand Prairie. Prior to teaching at Grand Prairie, I taught kindergarten at Bethel Grade School for the 2015-2016 school year. I attended Rome Grade School and Centralia High School, so I am very familiar with this area. After graduating from high school, I attended Kaskaskia College and obtained by Associate's in Arts Degree. I went on to Greenville College and obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education in December 2014. I absolutely love our small school and am proud to be a GRAND PRAIRIE WILDCAT! 

When Ms. Poteet is not at school:
As mentioned, I attended Rome Grade School so I grew up right down the road in Dix with my parents and 2 brothers (Ryan:older & Chris:younger) and then went to Centralia High School. I currently live in Mount Vernon with my boyfriend of 13 years and our 3 year old son, Jaden. Not only do your children keep me on my toes, but I go home to my son who is into anything that involves trucks, tractors and being outdoors. We also enjoy spending time with our 2 nieces (Avynleigh 5, Avystin 1) and nephew (Theo 2). When we aren't busy chasing Jaden & his cousins around we enjoy going to watch St Louis sports. We are avid Cardinals and Blues fans!
